Install 'Setup.exe' file in 'compatibility Mode'.

If issue persists, try using the 'setup' file to install drivers in compatibility mode (Next Step)

Finish the installation and check for the Bluetooth functionality.

Follow through with the installation as per the screen instructions.

Click 'Yes' to continue if prompted with 'User account control' message.

Locate file Inst (Refer to the image below).

Open the following path: C:\dell\Drivers\R235898\Win64.

After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R235898.

Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled DELL_WIRELESS-370-BLUETOOTH-_A02-1_R235898.exe.

Save the folder (zipped folder) on the 'Desktop screen'.

You may want to try to see if it works for you. However, I did some research and found that the following steps have been producing positive results.

Right-clicking on this and choosing Update Driver Software, it then updated the driver back to the Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Mini-card (version 12.Dell has not tested Alienware M15x laptop with Windows 8.Therefore 'Windows 8' compatible drivers for your system are not available on Dell support website. Rebooting, I noticed that now just a ‘generic’ Bluetooth device was listed in Device Manager. This time, it detected the existing Bluetooth devices and so could proceed to download and update the drivers to newer versions (that apparently do properly support Windows 8/8.1). Until recently I hadn’t really needed to use any Bluetooth devices, and it was then that I realised that Bluetooth had somehow disappeared. It’s showing signs of being well used - the screen is a bit scratched in places, most of the rubber feet have fallen off and the battery doesn’t last as long as it used to, but it does the job. My trusty Dell laptop is still going strong 4 years on.
